Project Meeting in Thessaloniki, Greece
Within the recent project meeting, the HIYIELD project team visited materials processing infrastructure for upgrading low-quality scraps at AEIFOROS plant site in Thessaloniki, Greece. This insightful visit showcased AEIFOROS's strides in enhancing the quality of low-quality scrap. A new high performance state of the art shredder is currently be added to the existing facilities within the HIYIELD project, to prepare AEIFOROS for the demands of the future scarp market. The HIYIELD project aims to promote a circular economy by progressively increasing the scrap uptake in three scenarios representing the current European steelmaking routes. Under Björn Glaser’s (KTH) lead, the project consortium had a productive time presenting intermediate results, sharing knowledge, and engaging in intense discussions.
